FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 1997

Coalinga, CA

High Brite, North America’s leading stallion by number of winners and California’s leading stallion by progeny earnings and number of winners, has been moved to Harris Farms located in Central California.

John Harris purchased a major interest in the millionaire son of Best Turn out of Spray, by *Forli from John Zamora, whose JZ Stock Farm had been home to the stallion for the 1996 and 1997 breeding seasons. The stallion will be syndicated and will stand for $5,000 live foal payable Sept. 1. Inquiries should be directed to Dave McGlothlin at the farm (800-311-6211) or through the farm’s website at www.harrisfarms.com.

High Brite won 15 of his 45 starts including major stakes wins at 3, 4, and 5 at distances ranging from 6 to 9 furlongs. He retired with total career earnings of $1,150,519. In 1997 (through October 15) he is the sire of 108 winners, which places him first in the North American standings. High Brite has sired 22 stakes winners including this year’s multiple graded stakes winner High Stakes Player, who has earnings of $617,121, as well as additional 1997 stakes winners Hunk of Class, Brite Adam, High Gun Ryder, and Blue Steel High.

John Harris commented: "We are very pleased to have this outstanding stallion at Harris Farms. He has outstanding bloodlines, a superior race record, and is a proven sire of runners. California breeders accepted him very well for the last 2 seasons and we think he is an excellent value. He has a very solid pedigree which is also a good outcross to Northern Dancer and Raise A Native line mares. High Brite’s winners from foals statistics are truly outstanding. I think his shares will be very well received. There was a strong offer on this horse from out of state interests and I am pleased that we were able to work out an arrangement with John Zamora to keep him here in California. We have a great Cal Bred program and this stallion can really capitalize on it."
