Eric Smith, manager of the River Ranch division of Harris Farms, is seen with various Horse Division employees at his farewell luncheon. Eric is returning to Fresno State to pursue an advanced degree.

Recent visitors to Harris Ranch were Jim Crettol and his wife Barbara, shown here with John Harris.
Jim is running for the Assembly district covering Western Fresno, Kings and Kern Counties.

Gary Ziebarth, Michael Cooper, Pam Ziebarth and Raul Rosas with Cee's Tizzy. The Ziebarths and Cooper, along with Kevin Cochran (not pictured) are the principals of Tiznow and Cee's Stable LLC. Cee's Tizzy is the sire of Tiznow, the reigning horse of the year, who recently retired to Winstar Farm in Lexington, KY after completing unprecedented wins in back-to-back Breeders' Cup Classics.

John C. Harris celebrating his most recent birthday at the Harris Ranch Inn. He was presented with a birthday gift of a bronze sculpture titled Trifecta by Rick Hadley.

Lindsay Ellithorpe, on July 6th, has departed Harris Farms to pursue other opportunities in the thoroughbred industry in the Bluegrass state of Kentucky. Shown with her co-workers attending her farewell and good luck party.

All the meat department managers from Henry's Markets in Southern California stopped by the horse farm for a tour on July 11th. Henry's is an upscale grocery chain specializing in fine meat and produce that has been a loyal customer of Harris Ranch Beef.    Del Mar visitors can stop by their stores in Solano Beach or Encinitas, or their many other locations in San Diego or Orange Counties.

Proud new thoroughbred owners Assemblymen Tony Strickland (R-Ventura) white shirt and Mike Briggs (R-Fresno) wearing yellow shirt with John Harris and their partnership horse, Cut the Deal (top image), a 5 year old mare by Cutlass Reality-Count the Votes, by Moscow Ballet. She is out of a half sister to the multiple graded stakes winning Work the Crowd, and has a win and a third from 3 starts to date. Cut the Deal is back at Harris Farms for a brief freshening and should see action this summer at Del Mar. 

Briggs and Strickland also purchased a partnership interest in the 2 year old filly, Hit the Road (Moscow Ballet-Hitwick, by Bold Hitter)-lower image. She is a half sister to several nice winners including the promising sire, Iam the Iceman. Hit the Road is starting to breeze at the farm now and should be racing this summer. 

The bay is a 2 year old filly named Hit the Road (Moscow Ballet-Hitwick, by Bold Hitter) the chestnut is Cut the Deal (Cutlass Reality-Count the Votes, by Moscow Ballet). She is now 5 and won first time out at Hollywood Park in December, 2000.
