April 25, 2009--Compari, coming off a maiden win and making only his third career start, scored a convincing victory in the $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes for California-bred 3-year-olds, the feature race on Saturday’s Gold Rush X card at Hollywood Park.

Compari is the first North American stakes winner by the shuttle stallion Redattore. Compari is out of the Dixieland Band mare Southern Charm, was bred by owners Harris Farms, Don Valpredo and John Nicoletti, was foaled at Harris Farms, ridden by Garrett Gomez and is trained by Martin Jones.

He was coming off his maiden breaker on turf in his second start March 29 and his earnings jumped Saturday from $33,000 to $183,000. He ran the 1 1/8 miles in 1:48.63 at odds of 5-1.
